I will be studying in Ireland from January 24th to May 9th. To the best of my ability, I plan to use this site for updates on my life in the Emerald Isle! My homebase is Dublin; other excursions include, but are not limited to: County Mayo, South Armagh, Belfast, Ballycastle, Londonderry/Derry, and the Aran Islands. The program I chose to participate in is field-based, as opposed to the alternative being primarily classroom learning. The program revolves around a general study of social and political conflict within both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, which are 2 separate governing bodies.  I conclude my stay with a four week Independent Study Project on my chosen topic, the Corrib Gas dispute. Hopefully, the luck of the  Irish will lead me on a successful journey to find all that I'm looking for and whatever my favorite band hailing from Dublin,U2, apparently is still looking for... (get it?!?)
